A natural starting point

Sri Lankan vein quartz can have naturally high SiO2 content.

Purity varies by deposit, vein, mining area and individual sample. Detailed geological characterisation and batch testing are essential to establish the commercially achievable product specification.

From the vein to your process

We control the first three steps: selection, dry processing and testing. What happens after depends on your application, and we keep the two apart.

What we do
  1. Vein quartz

Quartz is selected at the source, leaving the host rock behind, to limit contamination before processing starts.

  2. Controlled processing

Dry processing: crushing, milling, screening, sorting and physical separation.

  3. Tested product

Each commercial batch is sampled and analysed. The Certificate of Analysis reports SiO2, impurity elements and particle size.

As supplied
  1. Direct industrial use

Ceramics, glass, refractories, foundry, abrasives, engineered stone, water filtration and industrial fillers.

Downstream, outside our scope
  1. Downstream purification

Customers or their processors refine the material to higher specifications.

  2. Advanced applications

Photovoltaic, optical and semiconductor manufacturers purify and qualify their own feedstock before use.

Two product forms, specified per order

We supply quartz grits and powder in a range of particle sizes, with chemical composition and impurity levels documented by Certificate of Analysis.

Where our quartz is used

All applications
  • Unglazed ceramic tiles beside a bowl of white powder
    Ceramics
  • Stacked sheets of float glass seen edge-on
    Glass manufacturing
  • The polished edge of a white engineered quartz slab with grey veining
    Engineered stone
  • A clear column filled with layers of gravel and white sand
    Water filtration

Also refractories, foundry, abrasives, industrial fillers and construction materials, selected by particle size and the chemistry on the batch COA.

Feedstock for further processing

Customers who run their own purification buy our quartz as feedstock, or supply it to processors who do.

Advanced applications

Photovoltaic, optical and semiconductor supply chains need impurity levels far below industrial grades. Our material can enter these chains only as feedstock, after additional purification and qualification by the downstream manufacturer.

Why choose Flash Energy

Controlled feedstock
Quartz sourced from identified Sri Lankan vein-quartz deposits.
Consistent processing
Controlled crushing, screening, sorting and physical processing.

Chemical and physical characteristics documented by batch-specific COA.
Flexible particle sizes
Grits and powders available according to customer requirements.
Industrial scale
Scalable mining and processing capability.
Further-purification potential
Material can serve as feedstock for downstream purification where higher specifications are required.
Export capability
International bulk supply from Sri Lanka.

Every batch, documented.

A single purity figure says little about how quartz will perform. Iron tints glass. Alkalis change how a melt behaves. Particle size decides whether a grade works at all. So each batch is documented by what was measured.

Typical purity and impurity levels vary by deposit, product grade and processing route. Final specifications are confirmed by batch-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Questions buyers ask

All questions
What is the SiO2 purity of your quartz products?

SiO2 content varies with the source material, deposit, product grade and processing route. We do not represent all products as having one fixed purity level. Each commercial batch comes with a Certificate of Analysis showing the measured SiO2 content and relevant impurity levels.

Are your products semiconductor-grade or solar-grade?

No. Our standard processed quartz is industrial quartz feedstock, not finished semiconductor-grade or photovoltaic-grade material. Applications that need exceptionally low elemental impurities may require additional downstream purification and qualification by the end user.

Can your quartz be used to produce higher-purity silica?

Our material can be supplied as feedstock for further purification. The final purity you can reach depends on the starting material, its impurity profile and the downstream purification process.

What applications are your products suitable for?

Depending on grade and particle size: ceramics, glass, refractories, foundry, abrasives, engineered materials, filtration and other industrial applications. We also supply material to customers who purify it further.
